THOUGHTS ABOUT SNOW

What can I say about snow?
It's white, crystalline, and in the sun it glows
Sometimes powdery, or wet and sloppy
Slushy, icy, slippery, cars skidding no stopping

Snow can be beautiful, pristine and sparkly
Children make snow angels, snow men, snow forts, and go sledding
Moms serve hot beverages like coffee, tea, and chocolate a plenty
While visions of Courier and Ives paintings are in your head dancing

Then the reality of the drive ahead hits you
You wait for a snow plow to free you
And cautiously and carefully you inch your way out
Thoughts of"Do I really want to risk an accident?" raising serious doubts

In conclusion, as much as I treasure the poets meeting
It's too dark, too cold, too snowy and it may start sleeting
As I've gotten older, slipping on the ice or getting stuck in the snow
Tends to put a damper on my spirits and common sense tells me not to go
HOW'S THAT FOR A POEM ABOUT SNOW?!!!
