Milly

She lies poised, head up, ears forward, attention outward bound.
Her breathing is quick, shallow
Her head is that of a huntress following each intricate sound.

Milly's Haiku

Follow leaf patterns
Gaze up and scan the branches
Inhale, exhale, breathe

Shadows crisscrossing
Branches bowing and scraping
Nature's picture show
