Back Yard Haikus

Sparks of jewel tones dart
Blurred wings, tiny and perfect
Brings wonder and joy!

Seamless lulling song
Chirping harmony blending
Quiet still voices

Calling and response
Leaves and wings all aflutter
Near distant trucks roar

Black shoe button eyes
Brown grayish creamy chested
Ears erect, springs off

White tail fast bounding
Grand jete too soon away
Tender leaves calling

Black striped feline stares
Birds and squirrels disturb the trees
Stretching in the sun

Cold tea, woe is me!
Need to get up and nuke it
Sometime this morning

Tea is still sitting
Poet still writing verses
Just go eat breakfast!!!
