The Christmas Play

I say a few words
You say a few words
And in time the words become lines
And sometimes the words rhyme

The scene emerges from the lines
One drawn from the writer's mind
A story begins to be colorfully told
Through the skill of the actors the scenes unfold

Rehearsals to learn cues, enter here, leave there
Characters portrayed with humor and flare
Microphones sometimes working, sometimes not
Laughter and applause at the right times we got

An enjoyable and new challenge was met
Would I do it again? You bet!
Maybe when Spring rolls around.
Life always has new roles to be found.
