Ruth Anne Marie

Ruth Anne Marie
Second oldest of us three
Your name is like a melody
It sits on the ears so prettily
At least it does for me
Ruth Anne Marie

You played on the swings with me
And hung over the top bar by your knees
Something I wished I could do indeed
I stood up on the glider so you could see
You were someone I wanted to be
Ruth Anne Marie

When I messed up my painting
You fixed it for me
When my incense burned the rug
You camouflaged it for me
You even took me to see my first movie
Ruth Anne Marie

Trusting, sensitive, intelligent, and a spirit that is free
I wonder were you able to see
How your friends saw you, and still see
When you look in a mirror what do you see?
You are still acting as a guide for me
Ruth Anne Marie
