musings on eternity

Eternal life with no conflict or pain
Eternal suggesting without beginning or end
At birth does life start or merely begin again?
Our mortal flesh and blood has a start and a finish
But do our memories of life's lessons learned diminish?

Time is but a weak measurement of our lives
It is only how a man contrives
To say how much we have grown from time zone to time zone
But are we alone?

When we shed our bodies at our lifetime's end
Is there an eternal hell or heaven for our spirits to spend?
Do we only pass this way but only now
Or will our eternal journey continue somehow?

Jesus spoke of His Father's house
A mansion with many rooms
Not a bad place to be marooned
For eternity where death will be consumed
By love eternal and all our spirits will live en-tuned

Are these thoughts true or faithful fiction?
I will weigh in and make my prediction
We will be raised to heaven after our last earthly day
Only our bodies to ashes will pass away
But God's true love can never decay!
