Ogden Nash expanded

Confectioner's labors delight
Melts on the tongue and sweetens
The smile so bright

However, the fruit of the vine dresser's and distiller's labors
Immediately warms and cheers the troubled soul
With such heady flavors

Or in Ogden's words
"Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker"
