Calm Places

The need for calm is far from being lazy
It is the urgent need to detach from the crazy

Calm is in the quiet of the now
The danger is gone, detach your thoughts somehow

Go outside and learn from the natural rhelm
Be quiet and listen, let God take the helm

Nature is where calm is in the ordinary
Listen closely and it can become extraordinary

The birdsong is calming with its loud, soft and chirping tones
Stay away from the stress of the ever pressing cell phone

Calm moments may be long or they may be brief
Whenever they happen they bring stress relief

If calm is the absence of emotion then I disagree
That sounds more like despair to me

Calm is an emotional balance bringing inner peace
It is needed for revelation and healing to increase

Calm is accepting the good with the bad as part of God's plan
Go listen to the birdsong whether you sit or stand

So breathe in the calm, exhale your burdens
Accept God's love until the final curtain.
