Kit Kats, Reese's Pieces, fun sized chocolates
Tootsie roll pops, Dum Dums, candy that fits in your pockets
Plastic pumpkins, decorator Halloween bags, simple pillow cases
They all hold candy carried by parents and kids with disguised faces
Houses decorated with skeletons, scarecrows, monsters and spiderwebs
Witches on broomsticks, mummies, goblins and tombstones for the dead
Trick-or-treaters dressed as super heroes and zombies who look mad and underfed
Some dressed as princesses or fairies in bright gold, blue and red
Along the neighborhood streets they wander and scurry
They run to your door in such a great hurry
Opening their bags hopping up and down with anticipation
When given their treats they say thank you and leave with elation
When the candy's all gone and the witching hours are through
It's time to relax for another month or two
It was fun while it lasted but to tell you the truth
I'm tired, worn out and really quite pooped!
