Morning Calling

Stripes of light glistening off clusters of pine needles in the tree
Iridescent web tendrils drift down from overhanging branches
The wind speaks softly and soothingly through the mighty oak
Robins, cardinals, wrens and grackles calling to each other amicably
Bluish skies smiling with puffy white cloud cheeks
Spider wart peeking purple from behind bouquets of hosta leaves
Roses and day lilies past their bloom waiting to be pruned
Breezy warm air enveloping and inviting
Spring is giving way to summer all too soon
